Congratulations to our 2024-2025 Scholarship Award Recipients!
We are committed to keeping Andrew’s name and legacy alive in the community he loved so much, while also investing in the future of healthcare in his honor. We are able to accomplish both by offering scholarships to Plainedge High School and now Farmingdale High School seniors who intend to pursue careers in the medical field.
We are pleased to announce that with your help, we were able to award all of our scholarships to six very deserving students (three from each school) for the third year in a row, totaling $6,000!
Congratulations to all of our scholarship recipients, and we wish you all the best in everything that you do!
The future is in good hands!
Meet some of our 2024-2025 scholarship award recipients:
From Plainedge High School:
“Applying to and being awarded the Andrew C. DeMarco Foundation Scholarship was both inspiring and humbling. I will forever be appreciative of this opportunity to learn about Andrew, the life of the party, who was known for being funny, kind, and loving. His story serves as a motivator to continue my studies, so that I can play a role in combating aggressive diseases and improving the lives of my patients. Furthermore, this scholarship encouraged me to learn more about the foundation. In addition to offering generous academic support, the Andrew C. DeMarco Foundation works to raise awareness of cardiac angiosarcoma and those suffering from it. This mission aligns entirely with my values. In the future, I would love to give back to the foundation that once believed in me and my aspirations to become a doctor. I thank the Andrew C. DeMarco Foundation for this opportunity and this support in my academic journey.”

From Farmingdale High School:
“I am honored to have been selected as a recipient of an Andrew C. DeMarco Foundation Scholarship.
After researching your foundation, I was overwhelmed by how much love surrounds Andrew's legacy. The time and energy that has been put into honoring him and his memory is something I want to be a part of, and this scholarship is an honor I do not take lightly.
Although I will already be away at school by the time the August 23rd fundraiser comes around, my parents will definitely be there to support a great cause and to pay your generosity forward.
Thank you again. This award has helped ease the burden of college tuition and we are incredibly grateful.”

"Receiving the Andrew C. DeMarco Foundation Scholarship not only eases the financial burden of my education but motivates me to pursue a future in medicine where I can make a lasting difference in people’s lives, just as this foundation is doing."
~ Samara Fuentes Mayorca
“From the bottom of my heart I cannot express enough gratitude that you have chosen me as a recipient of your generous scholarship this year. It is a true honor that I accept generosity that will help me in this next chapter of my life. Your scholarship means so much to me, and the meaning behind it makes it even more special. Know that this scholarship is a small piece in what will help me achieve my future goals of becoming a speech-language pathologist and put me through school at Boston University. Again, thank you so much for rewarding me with your scholarship, and know your foundation holds a special place in my heart.”
